Made for scratching and stretching
The surface is tightly woven sisal — natural, slightly rough, and exactly the texture cats look for when they want to dig in and pull. Firm enough to hold up to daily use, soft enough that they will stand on it.
Every edge is stitched and finished, so there are no loose fibres or sharp corners for claws to snag on. It also means the shape holds up instead of fraying open after a few weeks.
And no crumbs to sweep.
Cardboard scratchers shed confetti across your floor every day they are in use. Sisal gives your cat the same satisfying claw-drag without turning the living room into a workshop floor.
It goes on the wall, so it takes no floor space
A cat tower eats an entire corner of the room. This uses wall you were not using anyway — which matters in an apartment, and matters more if you already own more cat furniture than you would like to admit.
The hook-and-loop fastener means it is not permanent, either. Lift it off to shake out the fur, move it to a different room, or take it with you when you move. No drill, no screws, no holes.
Four places it works
On the wall — the main way. Vertical means a full standing stretch, which is what they were after when they picked your doorframe.
Beside the sofa — right where the damage usually starts, and close enough that they will use it instead.
On a cabinet or table leg — wraps onto the furniture they have already claimed.
Flat on the floor — if your cat is a horizontal scratcher, it works as a small mat too.
Reinforced edges, because they will not be gentle
Scratching is a full-body pull, not a light tap. The bound edge is there to take that force without unravelling — and to keep the surface smooth and safe under your cat’s paws while they do it.
It does not look like cat gear
Most scratchers announce themselves. Beige carpet, plastic trim, a shape that only makes sense in a pet shop. This one is cut to the outline of the illustration — no rectangle, no border — in warm greens, oranges and browns.

Where to put it (this decides whether it works)
Mount it over the spot they already scratch, not where you would prefer it to go. Cats return to territory they have already marked — you are redirecting a habit, not starting one.
Height matters: the bottom edge should sit low enough that your cat can reach the top while standing on their back legs. Too high and they will ignore it.
The other reliable spot is next to where they sleep. Cats stretch and scratch within about a minute of waking — put it in arm’s reach of the nap spot and you will usually get a taker on day one.

Putting it up
1. Wipe the surface clean and let it dry completely. Dust is the one thing that makes this fail.
2. Press the fastener strips onto the back, then peel the backing.
3. Position it, then press firmly along every edge for 10 seconds.
4. Wait 24 hours before letting your cat at it. The adhesive needs that long to reach full strength. This is the step people skip, and it is why a scratcher ends up on the floor.
Two honest notes
On walls: the fastener holds best on smooth, sealed surfaces — painted drywall, tile, finished wood, glass. It will not hold reliably on textured, freshly painted or wallpapered walls. If you rent, test it on a hidden patch first and remove it slowly, at an angle.
Safety: for pet use only — this is not a children’s toy. Keep the product, packaging and small parts away from children, particularly under-3s, because of choking and suffocation hazards.
